While working for String Swing and Hold Up Displays, I was given the amazing opportunity to refresh my UI/UX skills by taking this interface design course called Shift Nudge. Shift Nudge is the systematic process to learn the visual skills of interface design, even if you don't have a design background. This systematic process is perfect for those wanting to enter or advance in the field. The course is taught by Matt D. Smith who received a BFA in Graphic Design from UGA in 2005 and has specialized in interface design ever since.
I highly recommend taking this interface design course if you have the chance. Even if you are an expert designer, it's always great learning from the pros and seeing their workflows. I am a great listener and pay very close attention to detail so when taking the course, I took very detailed notes and examined everything very closely. Some of the information I had already knew how to do, but there are a lot of different ways to do the same process and it was interesting seeing Matt's approach to each subject. Even something as simple as using a different keyboard shortcut or file management technique, I was able to take what I had learned and implement it into my own workflows. The images below are some of my homework files showing what I had worked on during the course. I did my best to incorporate String Swing or Hold Up Displays into my project files since those were the businesses I was working for at that time.
